Simply a case of a few conversions to get the file into a kml from gpx then open it in Google Earth. Working out where to stop will be harder than I thought. <br/> <br/> The theory is simple, choose a start point work out roughly how far you will walk, (on average), then at the end point/s plot some ideal hiding spots. Either in woodland or a suitable grassy knoll. Planning on using it as a sort of online photo album.the next adventure will be The wisely of Wight coastal path. sadly missed out on blogging the southdowns way as there is no Blogger.com app for symbian. now I'm running android iv'e got a nice client to use.To start the prep:Just set up my Garmin gps60 with a track of the IOW coastal path. Also have waypoints for all towns on the route. <br/> <br/> We'll also be using the same google earth techniques to spot suitable places to wild came. Previously I've used google earth to spot flat wooded areas suitable for making camp. It serves no purpose but to keep us warm into the later hours of this our last night at camp. We have also decided to cook marshmallows on 'kebab sticks' fashioned from sticks pulled off a nearby shrubbery. Yum! Its a lovely calm evening after another active day.<br />We decided to check out the Aviation Museum at Tangmere today. Well worth the visit. Cost us a fiver each, the old men who ran the place were so friendly, very informative and were obviously passionate about the subject. And alot cheaper then friggin Arundel Castle!! (Up your one English Heritage /National Trust people we have foiled your evil plan!! Haha!) Loads of really cool planes and general wartime artefacts along with loads of information and interesting facts about it all. There were flight simulators, (Which Owen was dying to go on - but the queue was full of 5-12 year old so he decided against it. Plus I don't think i could stand the shame and embarrassment of it), and plane engines hooked up to electric to demonstrate how the engines moved and sounded. We really enjoyed it - we were there about 3 hours. Is that sad? - Nah.<br /><br />Owen - So Charli pretty much covered the lot there.<br />We had a good day at Tangmere, didn’t leave there till 3pm then while we tried to get back, we had the most interesting ride home - we took a wrong turning at Chichester because I got distracted by food and Charli - once again - panicked. Then we decided to take country lanes home instead of the A27. We got stuck behind three tractors and it all got quite hysterical. Funny none-the-less. We still sitting listening to the idol ramblings of the commoners around us. All in all a great holiday. I look forward to finishing this document when we get back. About to get washed then down to the beach at Middleton-on-Sea<br /><br />2000<br />Just sat down at the Olive Branch after a day of sun, sea and sand. Seriously good weather today we have had a brilliant day. After we cooked in the sun for a bit, due to the time of year, the tide was in for most of the day and it was quite windy so we left back for the site, its much warmer in land. While at the site i consumed £3 worth of ham and charli fell asleep in the sun. Successfully got one red side of her face! (It was Owens fault - he didn't wake me!!!)<br /><br />After we were done we trekked to Bognor an had a good wander around finished buying gifts and went to the beach there! We wandered around the fair and mocked the carnies they all looked well skank. Bognor’s not as bad as Littleskankton but the chavs are all well young. We're used to more violent breeds of chav who are bigger and older and usually armed so we were cool.<br /><br />About 5pm we got chips in Yapton near our site and sat around for a while after that tending to our minor burns. Soon enough being the alchi's we are we started drinking.<br /><br />When the troll in the office told us she was really busy this weekend she wasn’t joking. In a matter of hours the site has gone from 6 tents and 4 caravans to more like double those figures!!<br />Wasp count has shot to 15 dead and we are back off up the pub!!<br /><br />So as the journal draws to a close I would like to say what a nice part of Britain this is it really makes me proud to be a citizen of this country. The South is obviously the best part. We have conversed with the Irish, Welsh and seen many 'Northerners' down here and have come to the conclusion that the South is the best bit of Britain for chilled out folk such as us.<br /><br />Charli Entry - One of the best holidays i have ever had. We got one more day to go but we have crammed so much into our week that i predict tomorrow will be a beach and general laziness day. We had a walk around Arundel - its a nice place, lovely views and sights, big hills and stuff. We walked up one of these hills and ended up at the entrance to the castle. we thought we might like to have a look round - might be quite interesting, some opld stuff, a bit of history etc. We then decided that it probably wouldn't be worth the thirty quid entry fee!! We don't care about history and old stuff that much. Thinking that maybe the English Heritage should take this fact into account when pricing up their attractions - its cheaper to research it on the net guys think about it! Madness!! So maybe we will go another time - when we haven't just paid for a holiday.<br /><br />As we crossed over the bridge we saw a lovely little gaggle of swans - aaaah romantic sigh. We spent a small amount of time watching one which was fighting against the current. It was severely struggling to keep up so Owen took an immense amount of pleasure in mocking it. (I think he was mean - Charli.) We found a few shops but there was only one decent which sold... wait for it... camping equipment! We got a few cool camping accessories and then continued to walk about. We sort of sidled up some little lane-like road where the path is like one an a half peoples wide. We came across lots of posh people (e.g. "i,ve seen this simply adorable picture darling...yup...yup...uhuh...ya and i want it, i want it now darling...ya...ya...yup have the money transferred from my swiss bank account now darling!! etc etc) Halfway up this road we moved aside to let a lady pass she stopped in front of us and frowned and sort of huffed in an unimpressed fashion. Naturally we laughed in her face at her retardedness - no time for these toff-types who think they're better than us just because they are.<br /><br />We continued walking along this road - after we had calmed down from all the hysterical laughing, to a small pub we had seen earlier, for a brief beverage. After much conversing we moved on and found a bakery, got some pastry related grub and sat by the river to munch. We then went back to chav-central Little-skank-hole aka Littlehampton. We wanted to do the bumper cars and pedal boats for a bit of a cheap kiss-me-quick kind of laugh. We both felt incredibly unsafe in the boats - there was water coming in and if you pedal backwards the whole boat tips up!! EEEK! But we had a laugh nonetheless. The man suggested I was a retard by confusing me with his common dialect - "put the other arm through! No put the other arm through! My conclusion: they're all carnie retards.<br /><br />1930<br />Charli - Just to briefly document some new arrivals at camp. Basically - more 'tards. The red van brigade left this morning and the chav olds also went home taking their gazebo with them.<br /><br />The new people however really are actual retards. 2 guys and 2 girls. They look older than us, sort of Uni looking people - but sound about 6 years old. They have just closed up their tent for the night but we can still hear their adolescent yowling. Owen thinks they are having some sort of orgy. By the sounds of the female high pitched yelping and squealing, i think i might have to agree.<br /><br />On the plus side, a happy camper in a veedub has just arrived and i think he will entertain Owen for hours! Dinner was another success. Sausage casserole and mash. yum yum!<br /><br />Owen - We have had a lovely romantic evening listening to the best of Fleetwood Mac I love my lady and i mean it in a serious way. We have bonded so well over the last few days. I have had loads of fun map reading and being here i can strongly recommend camping with a loved one it's a great way of bonding and it's so much fun cooking on one of those grill things. yay! We failed. It's now 0900 just finished cleaning and tidying etc. and as the weather doesn’t look too good so we are going to do a bit of shopping in and around Chichester.<br />It's a bit rainy but otherwise enjoying the camping experience the sound of trains is getting a little annoying every time they hoot charli sings: “#he-llo#” back she says it sounds like they are saying hello, this seems to be the onset of some kind of camping hysteria disease syndrome. We have now found a new home-from-home in the tent and refer to it as ‘home’ when we are talking about returning to camp. Sweet.<br /><br />There is an interesting family of Chavs sited opposite us - who we can only guess consists of Mother, Father, Daughter and Son-in-Law. They appear to be living inside a gazebo and sleeping in a huge dome tent - quite strange. The Chav Crew men, (as we have affectionately dubbed them), have just left and the Chav Mum is cleaning and washing whilst continuously smoking and discussing with her fat daughter about the benefits of Teflon and her favourite type of Richmond. It does seem however, that they are not all as bad as you would expect or first assume. The Son-in-Law said hi to me but the parents just blanked me when I gave them a happy-camper morning-greeting on the way to the shower block. Its okay, quite busy, a little bit better than our home town but equally as boring. In my personal opinion, these days it’s no good going any kind of distance to go shopping, the places are all the same but we got a few bits then ate some lunch in the park where we watched as some local village idiots kicked a ball around and shouted primitive abuse at each other. We have got back now and we need to decide what is for dinner. What am I going to EAT TODAY lets go shopping. Its raining but what the hell.<br /><br />1730 - another charli entry<br />I just killed a spider! haha! But Owen near hates me for it. I think that walloping it with a plate was allot easier on the eight-legged messenger of the devil then smoking it out like he tried to do! I’ve never killed a spider myself before but after asking Owen about 600 TIMES in a rather irritating west country accent and he still refused I decided to take matters into my own hands. haha!<br /><br />It’s still raining. We were going to go find food but got distracted by tent raving to Owens music box instead-followed by watching the rain drops roll down the side of the tent, giving them names and racing them. The weather is scorching so should be a great day.<br />We also thought that we ought to document the adventures of our neighbours in the big red van. Well . . . nothing to report as yet. Since Sunday they have not left the van. It would appear that they are Dad and Daughter. He's quite old and apparently fragile and spends his time staring out the front window of the van. Lets hope Owen's map skills are up to the job.<br /></p><p><strong>1120<br /></strong>To put it in a calm, collected "I'm-sure-we're-not-lost" kind of way, it would appear that Owen's map skills still need some improving. A.K.A. he's just realised that we cant get to Selsey through Pagham as there's a MASSIVE GREAT AREA OF WATER IN THE WAY! This little obstacle is known as Pagham Harbour. So the plan for the time being to check Pagham out.<br /></p><p><strong>1200<br /></strong>Okay so Pagham isn't all that. In fact Owen's quite p****d off. The place is really tiny: about 20 houses, one shop, a big patch of water and an arcade yet its got a massive ramp set up!?<br /></p><p><strong>1220<br /></strong>Had a coffee - we're going to try again to find Selsey in the hope that it's nice?!<br />Just a general note about the area. Something that has been causing us some amusement on our travels so far is that there are alot of signs for retards about. Instead of signs for 'Seafront' we keep seeing: 'THE SEA' --> And upon leaving Hunston there was a sign saying 'THANKYOU' we are not sure what we should be thanked for. . . leaving maybe?! All seems like it was made for simple minded people to us.</p><p><br /><strong>1800<br /></strong>Amazing! For the first time since we arrived our neighbours in the red van . . . . WENT OUT!!! We got back from Selsey and they had also just arrived back at camp. Owen was so excited by this and almost jumped out of his seat shouting 'Charli look they moved!' - bless him. We are just having a quick tidy then we are off back to The Olive Tree to test the cuisine that the owner ranted about.<br /></p><p><strong>2049<br /></strong>At the pub now. Just eaten and are now having a couple of drinks before we head back to camp. Owen had a traditional pizza [cheese and tomato jobby] and Charli had lasagne - its Italian night - BOGOF special! All very nice, no complaints here - much better then the newly renamed 'Grumpy Barman' where we go for eats back home. We are impressed. All the staff are smiling 'til their faces fall off and are very frindly. Lovely. Owen successfully broke the ice and nearly the whole pub as we walked in but an overly-nice lady and a tea towel later and all was well again.<br />I might have to make this my last entry in Owens PDA otherwise I will no longer be able to be annoyed by all this geeky technology bizzwizz etc - and we really cant have that. I will however continue to censor his reports and maybe type for him as I’m much faster at it than him! 'signing off' charli x x x<br /></p><p>Wasp kill update 5 down and signs of red ants but we smushed ‘em.</p><p>While walking back from the pub we saw some sheep in a field. Owen shined his torch at them - being the inquisitive being he is. We didn’t realise their eyes glow green we nearly shat a cat each!! Charli was near hysterics so we rushed home. Madness. Gonna be dreaming about evil green eyed sheep for years to come. Also there was one crazy sheep who has been eating the grass on the other side of the fence every single time we go past. We met the owner. He shamelessly plugged the pub food and the special BOGOF Italian, Indian and Steak Nights in a rather charming Irish accent. We also had the pleasure of chatting to a local lady - name unknown - we asked her a few questions about the area, after hearing about our general interests etc, she recommend we should go anywhere other than Littlehampton - too late but you only learn from experience eh? Even if it is someone elses! Generally allround good campsite its quiet and far enough away from the fuss of the coast. Both charli and i are impressed so far. </p><p>1330</p><p> Just got back changed our minds about lunch at The Olive Branch so eating bacon at camp instead. We went to Bognor town and found a Morrisons we raided that for supplies for lunch then realised we wanted to explore a bit so put more money in the meter as rain was holding off. Then we discovered a few more shops and got some gifts for our peeps back home in sunny Hailsham. We found the beach. There isn't much to look at but the weather is pants so we'll come back. After having a bit of a nose around we headed back for coffee. After a short downpour the sun began to shine. Being a self-proclaimed sun-worshipper Owen instantly sprang into action. We developed a plan to purchase large amounts of food - mostly meat - and went to Somerfields in Littlehampton to get it. </p><p>1920</p><p> Just finished a huge Barbeque consisting of minted lamb grill steaks - 2 each, loads of kebabs and ribs, and we created a corn on the cob masterpiece cooked on the barbie wrapped in foil with butter - fabulous!! After pouring about three litres of water on said patch of grass and dancing strangely on it to try and turn it into a less-square-shaped patch of mud, we were beginning to attract the attention of our fellow campers. So we gave up.The end result was a dark patch of mud with some loose grass thrown over the top. And a chair over the top of that. Hopefully no-one will notice. gulp. wasp frag count on day two...4 dead. Planning tomorrow. It's been nice all evening so if it's nice we will go to Chichester but if not then Owen wants to go to an Air Museum. Nearly there, stopped at the Black Horse after just over an hour of driving to let the car cool off. The AX [periwinkle] struggled a little on hills, starting to feel the strain of all the things we packed. Decided to go via yapton to get to the Lilies site. Before we arrived at site we were under the impression that the site would be allot further away but after Owens map skills were exposed as phoney the campsite was, in fact, ten minutes from our coffee stop. Our arrival time was 12pm.<br />When we had conversed with the evil troll, controller of campsite and occupant of the mysterious hatch of supplies (over priced local supermarket products) we began the erecting of our home for the week. Meanwhile the weather looks threatening<br />Finished setting up tent just as it looked like rain was on the way. Using only four blue crates used to store fresh vegetables and an upside down apple box we had created our kitchen. Noticed a rather lovely looking - if maybe a little ‘hip and trendy’ looking pub just outside of Yapton. Off to sample their wares tonight, if it’s a nice place they may be seeing more of us!<br /><br />18:53<br />Here begins the cooking adventures for the week. We have just eaten after checking out<br />the area found a Co-op, and purchased bacon. yahoo!! what fun. weather still threatening rain but so far so good .<br />As there seems to be a small wasp problem (the problem with them being that they’re nasty little critters who’ll take any chance they have to stab you), we will be keeping a wasp-kill count to show how great we are at over-coming ANY difficulties that may arise.<br /><br />Injuries on day one include: burns on both myself and Charli, (she tried to clean a hot grill and when I reinacted her stupidity, also managed to burn myself - duh!?), and I cut myself shaving. Tent space has worked out well, especially my home made blue tent tidy.
